I took Poli Sci 170A with Hui. She is a great professor. Highly recommended, very approachable. Our grade consisted of weekly homework assignments, attendance/participation, a final presentation, and a final paper (12-15 pages). The paper by far carried the most weight. The homework was graded based on completion. We learned how to use the statistical package R, and while data analysis is by nature a very dry subject (and sometimes so frustrating), she did explain concepts very clearly and she has a sense of humor that pops out every now and then. She prepared us very well for the paper and she was so helpful during office hours. Iris Hui is a great professor who cares about teaching and I really feel like I learned something useful in this class.

Course Taken: Environmental Science Cluster Seminar (M1C) I thought Zackey was one of the most caring, genuine professors I've had while at UCLA. He actually is interested in his students well-being and takes the time to get to know everyone on a personal level. His class is relatively straight forward. Every week he assigns readings, which do take a significant amount of time to complete (and some weeks readings are boring while others are incredibly interesting) and from these readings you must write a 2-3 pg review. The final consists of a take home final/essay which is just 4 pretty open ended questions reviewing material from the course. Zackey makes this class interesting and enjoyable.
