Gender, Culture, and Capitalism
Description: Lecture, three hours. Dynamic investigation of culture as terrain of production--and reproduction--of and resistance to gendered, racialized, and classed inequalities through active analysis of advertisements, television serials, Disney fairy tales, and performative forms like fortunetelling. Focus on relationships between gender, culture, and capitalism through lenses of transnational feminist and queer cultural studies to explore gendered processed of production and consumption of culture under capitalism. P/NP or letter grading.

Fall 2021 - the class has pre recorded videos that were available to us since the beginning of class. however, this class is fully based on the TA and how they grade. My Ta was Nic and I would say they were a tough grader but overall very supportive and helpful when needed help. this class consisted of weekly papers that you had to complete with your group. the group was of 4-5 people and you had to write a maximum two page paper(really hard because thats a little amount with a lot of people) plus side is that there was extra credit
