Spring 2022 - I really enjoyed Danielle as a TA for French 2, and I thought she did a really good job. As someone taking the class purely for learning French and not for a school requirement, I thought she did a good job encouraging participation from all students. I think she had creative ways of getting you to practice speaking, so be prepared. This is an elementary language course, so there are people in the class who are purely doing it to complete it, but rest assured, if you want to practice your French you can. The course requires you to purchase what is called MindTap and this is your homework. You also have to get tokens on Conversifi, which is your oral exam (so it is not in person but is still stressful). Would take again with her!

Winter 2019 - This is the worst class I have taken here at UCLA. Unlike other individuals leaving reviews for TA's I took the class with Jansma . She is the worst professor I have ever had during my time at UCLA. She is disorganized, unhelpful, and prejudiced towards the LGBTQ+ community and Black folks. Every single time a student of color mispronounced a word in class she was condescending. However, when white students made mistakes she praised their effort. Strangely she is the chair of the French department. I tried making a report about her behavior, but no one ever reached out. Also, the most difficult aspect of this class is she is extremely disorganized. She hands out a syllabus at the beginning of the quarter and does not go off of it, she was sometimes two weeks behind and expected us to be ready for quizzes. Avoid this class at all costs. If you can, take it at a community college. If anyone else has been discriminated against please report it. DO NOT take this class if you don't want to ruin your GPA!!

Spring 2021 - I had Arpi for French 2 and 3, and she was a great professor! So helpful and went out of her way any day at any time to help students with their learning and improving their French. She was helpful in allowing students to look at exams after to learn how to improve and di a great job at preparing us. The best language teacher Ive ever had.
