Fall 2020 - If you have the opportunity to take this class, TAKE IT!!!! Or really anything Brozgal teaches. She is engaging, kind, and she cares deeply about her students. The course material helps you foster appreciation for French culture rather than prepare you for exams (there weren't any in this class). Overall just a very enjoyable way to spend my time. I feel like I got to work creatively which I've never done before at UCLA! 11/10 for Prof Brozgal

Please, you guys need to stop crying like babies. Professors aren't there to hold your hand and make sure you feel relaxed in class. This isn't junior high. And just for the record, he smiles plenty, and often gets us laughing. Coleman is a perfectly good professor. He asks a lot of engaging questions and does a great job of steering us in the right direction. He may not pat you on the back for every thought you decide to share with the class, but we don't have time for that. He focuses on the material in lectures. He's also very friendly and will bend over backwards to accomodate your schedule for a meeting time. His papers and tests are fair--no surprises, and the reading list is fairly light. I would recommend him to just about anyone. I think he did a great job.

Prof. Werner is an interesting man. He does ramble on sometimes and is a bit quirky, but he's so knowledgeable. I don't know if I'll take anymore classes with him because he's not easy if you aren't a literature or English major. He expects you to be able to analyze books and writing styles like he does. For this particular class, we read 4 books, had a midterm in which the essay part was take-home, and a final which is all done in class.
