This man is so utterly full of himself that he refuses to teach. He will waste time preaching to you trite aphorisms and contradicting himself. He is obsessed with food so if you kiss his feet and bring food, your grade is raised. If you do not suck up to him then you will not receive a high grade. Sucking up and "guru"-worship are deemed more necessary in this class than actual desire to learn and effort. Honestly, he refuses to teach you anything. You have to figure everything out yourself. But hey, the other students in the class are nice.

I love this class and this professor!! He is so kind and funny. I instantly felt comfortable talking to him about anything! This class is an opportunity at UCLA you just do NOT want to miss, no matter what major you are or what level of music education. It is such a fun class in which you have the opportunity to learn about a culture and take a break from your other classes. Grading is very easy as long as you memorize the pieces and he gives out A's easily as long as you're not the type to fall asleep or anything rude like that. I recommend this class for everybody!
