Winter 2025 - This class was super easy, and I liked it a lot. There is mandatory attendance taken every class, but worth it to go. Other than attendance the only assignments are weekly "minute papers" where you have to read an article and then write about it for literally one minute and then submit it. Suuuuuper easy and super not time-consuming. There is a final paper that was 5 pages and an open-note online final that was super easy. I got 100% on both. As a person, Professor Li is evidently very passionate about this topic, and he brings in relevant current events where applicable, which I appreciated. Keep up with the news and politics if you take this class so that you can engage in the discussions. As a teacher, he could get sidetracked, but tbh no one was complaining, I enjoyed more the classes in which we talked about Trump for 30 minutes more than the ones where we stuck to stratospheric ozone concentrations. But tbh he got kind of rude when students would ask questions sometimes, LOL. There's no discussion and no TA. I think that might be why he had 60-second assignments, LOL. I recommend going to lecture but you do not need to read the textbook. U don't even need to bother studying for the final at all. Just go to class and you'll be totally fine. I learned a lot in this class, too. No complaints.
