Issues and Methods in Environment and Sustainability

Description: Seminar, four hours. Requisite: course 200A. Examination of interdisciplinary case studies that approach problems in environment and sustainability as issues with scientific, social, economic, political, philosophical, ethical, historical, cultural, and policy dimensions. Case studies illustrate use of qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis drawn from natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Emphasis on conceptual frameworks for defining environmental problems and implementation of research results in solving real-world problems. S/U or letter grading.
