Description: Seminar, one hour. Exploration of satire in contemporary English literature through lens of Joseph Heller's World War II novel, Catch 22. Students read and comment on absurd and satirical elements and discuss elements found particularly funny and interesting. Discussion of contemporary relevance of themes explored by Heller (e.g., insanity, bureaucracy, capitalism, morbidity). P/NP grading. Facilitated by David Veta, with faculty mentor Christopher M.
