Fall 2018 - Salway helps his students however he can. Regardless if your opinion doesn't make sense during lecture, he tries to get you to elaborate and make your opinion seem reasonable and logical. He always holds office hours and makes sure you leave lecture and office hours without any confusion. The BEST professor at UCLA.

Fall 2019 - He is very soft spoken but lectures are him talking about the texts and discussion based, more like socratic. The literature selected is easy to understand. He’s always available for office hours. There are two essays due, and 2 short discussion papers. A gem of a professor at UCLA when I was there.
