Most Helpful Review
Professor Bedient seems like a nice character and perhaps his poetry workshops are more interesting. But as a lecturer for 165, he's a big bore. He isn't particularly articulate and he asks the students to deal with concepts that require much more than a shallow review. I can't believe he asked us to write about Apollonian and Dionysian or Burke's the Sublime. These should be a part of another class all together. Also he assigns essays with ridiculous length requirement of 9-10 pages in size 10 font. Anything worth saying can be said in a decent 8 pages in size 12. And I've known other professors who've impressed their intelligence on me without making me feel small. So this is my spiel.
