English Composition, Rhetoric, and Language
Description: Lecture, three hours. Enforced requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement or course 2 or 2I (C or better). Not open for credit to students with credit for course 3D, 3DS, 3E, or 3SL. Rhetorical techniques and skillful argument. Analysis of varieties of academic prose and writing of minimum of 20 pages of revised text. Completion of course with grade of C or better satisfies Writing I requirement. Letter grading.

Fall 2016 - Professor Frankel was my first and without a doubt the best professor I have had at UCLA. He truly, truly cares about his students and passionate about the subject he teaches. A lot of freedom when it comes to essay topics and he will give you all the guidance and resources that you need to do well in this class. You simply have to meet him halfway and put in the effort. The T.A. I had was also an incredible, wonderful human being. 20/10 will take his class again.

Winter 2016 - She's a really nice professor. We only had 3 essays total and the topics were very relevant to our generation. We talked about social media and the pressure of colleges on younger children. She will take time out to help out and really tries to make the class engaging. Definitely would recommend taking english comp with her
