Description: Lecture, two hours. Exploration of complex nature of culture and impact of cultural diversity in urban classroom through class discussions, activities, and reflective expression, allowing novice teachers to understand and participate in rich cultural diversity of urban Los Angeles. By exploring culture as tool and target for increasing understanding of multicultural diversity, teachers may construct meaningful connections to students, communities, and home cultures.
