Winter 2023 - I think the class was not as hard as other reviews say. Do not follow the bruin walk grade distribution because it is misleading. The professor is a good lecturer and he knows what he's talking about, during his class he'll make references to other Econ classes (from Econ 1 to Econ 106). The exams are pretty tricky for the multiple choice but if you do all the study questions and practice problems you'll be more than fine. the grade is based only on three exams. I personally took very good notes (do not try to understand the notes without the lecture because he provides exams questions during the lectures). I studied for this class probably for 8 days the whole quarter. Go to the regraded sections that he holds after each exam, my grade improved by 8/10% for every single exam after the regrade section.

Fall 2024 - Rafey is one of the better professors. Young guy who is energetic and passionate about the material. All exams are open note, which IMO is extremely stupid. Two midterms and a final, all free response. Multiple part questions. If you miss one part of the question, you probably will miss upwards of 50% of the problem. Pretty nice curve applied to the class though, despite it being open note and pretty easy.

Fall 2020 - Yuki is the sweetest professor. She really cares about her students and it made me sad to see not a lot of people go to lectures/have their cameras on because I can tell she misses teaching in person. Her lectures are not necessary to go to at all as long as you thoroughly read the textbook and look over her slides and also do the homework problems and sample questions, as you'll find everything there that you need to do well on exams. She can be confusing when she tries to explain something, but she does her best and is very knowledgeable about the class. Overall, this is a very laid-back, easygoing class. Yuki may not be the clearest professor, but I personally didn't find her difficult to follow, and she is the nicest person.
