Professor Mehrnia wakes you up when you sleep in class and call you out when you don't pay attention. Overall, one of the better professors who care for EVERY SINGLE student. Only problem is his homework takes forever to complete (I'm talking avg of 10 hours or more per homwork) and his exams are tough. If you're going to take him, be prepared to drink coffee before class and pay attention. Also, you're going to be spending a lot of time studying if you want a good grade. Definitely 9/10 recommend, but not for THE WEAK.

Spring 2020 - I really don't know how to describe this amazing professor. In my opinion professor Darabi has one the best lectures in ECE department. He explains everything from baby steps and he's so caring about the students. He never let a question unanswered and except his normal office hours, he always made an extra one for student who need helps. This class has 4 hw sets with 12 question each, where usually 5 of those are extra credits, if you start early you can finish them way before the deadline, but my quarter everyone got lazy and complained about the workload so he gave us and extra 25% bonus on each hw. His midterm and final are fair but not easy, but again he's so caring that he offered to reduce the midterm weight if we preform better on final.

Spring 2019 - This class was hard. I remember how fucked I felt seeing the 1st homework after not taking circuits for more than a year. The homeworks were challenging and many of the questions came from a very ancient textbook. The midterm was fair and used the concepts covered in lecture and the homework. However, the final was hard, which sucks since it's 55% of the grade. It covers roughly everything, albeit more emphasized with the newer material after the midterm (even though he said it wasn't lol). Make sure you attend his 8am lectures. He is a great lecturer, but often times I get lost in the sauce and end up losing him halfway through (would be nice if it was Bruincasted). Even the smallest things he covers will end up being useful in the exams and homework. So take those notes seriously!!! I went to his office hours a few times, but it was always so damn crowded. Utilize your TA's office hours, especially for the homeworks. They are less crowded and TAs are more sympathetic to your situation haha. Lastly, apparently he doesn't curve. And if he does, it is not a lot. So take this class as if you were being graded on an absolute scale. You can probably tell from the other reviews in his other classes that he is not the most generous grader. Good luck to any upcoming students taking him for circuits. It's gonna be a really stressful 10 weeks of nonstop studying, homework, and studying. And did I mention homework?

A damn passionate man. It's pretty difficult to encounter a professor who is very passionate about his field (well, they are probably passionate but they don't know how to convey it). Pamarti is definitely one of those who can really ignite that burning EE flame within you. Lectures are what like other people said. Very effective, engaging, and easy to follow. He does go overboard in covering some very basic material but I liked it because sometimes, I forget the most basic things and covering it again just reminds me what happened. He didn't seem all that disappointed in going it over again. It's just that some of us were a bit shy in asking because he kind of implicitly give that "judging" vibe. Homework and tests were rough. Very challenging, nothing like the lecture. It's like in class, you learn how to write simple sentences (e.g. "I love to eat apples." or "I love to eat apples because they are healthy.") and then come homework and tests, it becomes a gigantic research essay on the history of apples combined with a philosophical discussion of the meaning of apple and a lengthy footnote explanation of the health benefits of an apple. Indeed, I exaggerate but the homework and tests are difficult and challenge you to think intuitively. Not sure how he curves/grades but I ended up with C+ and C on EE10 and EE110 respectively with Pamarti. I am definitely not the brightest bulb around the engineering school but I felt taking these two foundation EE classes with Pamarti was hella worth it. Take him if you can!!

After having been through his course I would say that it ranks up there with most useless class I've taken to date. His lectures were definitely mostly ramblings and let me just say, I don't equate that with teaching at all. I don't feel like I know anything more about circuits than I did entering the course and found the TAs to be of limited help. Definitely don't recommend him if you're even considering choosing the circuit pathway.
