Beginning World Arts Practices in Sub-Saharan Africa and Diaspora
Description: Studio, three hours. Beginning-level study of world arts practices originating from sub-Saharan Africa and extending to cultures of African diaspora, including Brazil and Afro-Caribbean. Variable topics, such as dance of Guinea, Mali, and Senegal or Afro-Caribbean masking traditions, in cultural and historical context. May be repeated for credit without limitation. P/NP or letter grading.
