Survey of Political Repression: How State Conveys Its Message
Description: Seminar, one hour. Use of multidisciplinary approach to understanding various examples of political repression throughout U.S. history. Examination of social, political, and economic implications of these repressive episodes and how state conveyed its message. Historical overview and in-depth examination of selected major highlights of domestic political repression. Use of array of primary and secondary sources, in addition to documentaries, to give students holistic understanding of these events. P/NP grading.
