Winter 2016 - This class is challenging and requires a great knowledge of physics 1C. The first part of the course is basically him going over physics 1C in 4 weeks. The second part of the course is learning about spectroscopy and quantum mechanics. I got a couple of points below the average on the midterm but did extremely well in the non cumulative final and ended up with an A. You might do bad on the midterm but on the second you can do better and bring your grade up. Visit his office hours! He's not as clear about explanations during class as he is in his office hours. Very nice man. I would totally recommend anyone to take him but be ready to work hard. His problem sets are give each week and graded on attempt. haha they're a little bit too hard to solve completely but his tests are open book!

ummm,..Actally prof weiss changed a lot...even though the class material was really hard and prof weiss used to go too deep abt the concepts....and the leactue notes just like directly copy from the text book..... Honestly, I had a hard time for the first four weeks coz I didnt know wt to study and there were thousands of formulas.... those were not supposed to memorize but be sure to understand them...... The homework and mid-term were acceptable......but each worth 25% for total grade If u have Ron as your TA, I;m sure its not hard to pass the class or even get a gd grade coz he was willing to help everyone..He explained the concepts very well and he also understood prof weiss super well...He knew what kind of concepts were important in the course... One more, "mass on the spring" and "why sky is blue" were all abt the class
