Description: (Formerly numbered Chicana and Chicano Studies 495.) Seminar, four hours. Designed for graduate students and required of all new department teaching apprentices. Interactive forum for discussing learner-centered teaching in Chicana/Chicano studies. Exploration of diverse classroom strategies and pedagogical techniques specific to interdisciplinary field. Topics include preparing for discussion sections, promoting discussion among students, using class websites, office hours, grading, and campus resources. May be repeated once for credit. S/U grading.
