Description: (Formerly numbered Chicana and Chicano Studies 166.) Seminar, four hours. Introduction to pedagogy of Paulo Freire and examination of historical and contemporary problems circumscribing Chicana/Chicano education. Central focus to offer Freirian alternative to answer theoretical, methodological, practical, and policy questions about schooling of Chicanas/Chicanos in U.S. P/NP or letter grading.
