Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Requisites: course 202A or equivalent, Mathematics 131A or consent of instructor. Survey of probability theory, with special emphasis on applications to biostatistics. Topics include probability spaces and random variables, generating functions, conditioning, discrete-time martingales, applications to finite sample analysis of statistical procedures. S/U or letter grading.
