Advanced Probability in Biostatistics

Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Requisites: courses 202A, 202B, Mathematics 131A. Survey of probability theory, with special emphasis on applications to biostatistics. Topics include probability spaces and random variables, generating functions, modes of convergence, common limit theorems, conditioning, discrete- and continuous-time martingales, Markov chains. S/U or letter grading.
