Fall 2024 - I liked the energy and enthusiasm Prof Rosenblum brought to her lectures. There were three papers: the midterm, an exhibition paper (due between the midterm and final), and the final paper. She was very nice and approachable, but her grading scale was unclear. For the papers, there's a list of guidelines, but no actual rubric. I believe a rubric would be better for this class since she threw us into each essay, and is an infamously tough grader. The prompts themselves were manageable, but the artworks works we were able to select were limited throughout the quarter. Overall, the class itself is interesting, but I don't think she does a great job of making the class as learning-friendly as possible. If you're lucky and know someone who took this course, I recommend asking them for help because she's very nitpicky. I personally wouldn't re-take the course, but I also didn't know what to expect from her or the course. I hope this helps :)
