Fall 2016 - Professor John Pohl is simply amazing. If there is anyone out there that reminds us of Indiana Jones, it's Dr. Pohl. He is very intelligent and knowledgeable when it comes to Native American art history, anthropology, archaeology, and museum studies. So don't assume this class is centered around art history only. There is no homework aside from pages in the textbook, or research papers assigned to read on a weekly basis. The midterm consists of studying for three essay-based questions, and he chooses two on the mid-term exam day and you write as much as possible for these two questions. The final exam is a research paper that consists of the body of information, notes, bibliography, and illustrations. Start this final paper/exam as soon as you possibly can! This research paper requires time and effort. It was an honor being taught by such an intelligent and well known archaeologist. Do not be afraid to approach him regarding anything. He is very nice, funny, and understanding. I highly recommend taking any of his courses.
