Spring 2024 - I had a unique experience because of the protests and the TA strike, but considering that, I think this class was dull and unnecessarily complicated overall. Medieval art history is notoriously tedious, but there are ways to make it enjoyable, which Professor Burke did not do. One thing that annoyed me was that she never pulled down the blinds, so I could never see the slides because the sun was shining in. This is a primarily VISUAL class, so this was irritating. She posted the slides on Bruin Learn, but there's very little information on them, so it didn't matter. She also requires all assignments to be turned in ON PAPER, which is frustrating because I was often late to class trying to find a printer on campus to use. Attendance is not required, but her tests are in person and short answer so that you couldn't miss class.
