Description: (Formerly numbered 285P.) Seminar, three hours. Designed for graduate students. Variable topics course on important theoretical subjects in anthropological archaeology. Topics include early village societies, specialization and cultural complexity, ethnography for archaeologists, power and hierarchy in intermediate societies, materialist/idealist debates, urbanism, and exchange systems.
