Just moved out after two years, mistakenly reviewed after the first based on my own unknowns related to Covid. As the others stated, water to the entire building is shut off multiple times per year and the building managers act like that's a normal thing. They kept a portion of my security deposit based on an existing condition at time of move in, even though it was repeatedly pointed out to management. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
Dear Prior Tenant,
This is a response from Premier Student Housing. You were a resident of ours over 3 years ago. What would drive you to write a bad review three years later? We find this very odd.
We have seen you post on the internet several false statements today on multiple websites. We will not say your name for your own privacy protection as we value our residents and prior residents.
We are sorry for the three years you choose to live with us you were so unhappy (you did not have to renew your lease).
This does not sound like a review but hate speech towards a member of Premier Student Housing which concerns us. It also concerns us that you were a resident three years ago and are just reviewing us now and attacking a team member, we find this a little concerning for her safety.
We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Living here was literally the worst mistake of my life particularly because I rented through premier/UC student housing. The manager was one of the worst people I ever interacted with. I spent 3 years in my unit and the first year was alright. There were warning signs of what was to come. The plumbing in this building is badly damaged and needs a full replacement, but they just do patch fixes. There's constant water leaks leading to persistent humidity and mold issues. It smells, it's loud, and the only reason I stayed was rent control and location. In my last year there before I had enough
I regularly spent days without a working toilet, had sewage backups into the toilet/tub, and mold issues. Premier housing was always unprofessional and they overcharged us for utilities with a fake energy company. The manager would constantly come in unscheduled or not at the time we agreed on. She would complain about our cleanliness even though we would clean plenty. It was horrible and she was very rude and accused us of leaving the heater on in the summer to sabotage showings. We never left it on (it was a heater AC COMBO....we left the AC on) and it was also a ridiculous accusation. The apartment is just humid and poorly ventilated. Don't live here, it's awful, and premier student housing is hot garbage. Their other units have similar issues.
Nicole is such an unprofessional landlord. Water shut off with no warning MULTIPLE TIMES for maintenance for hours at a time even leading up to the month our lease ended. Once you sign a lease with Premiere you will wish you hadn’t once you realize how many repairs you need. People at Axiom are nice but will never sign a lease with another apartment as long as they’re with Premiere Student Housing.
We've really liked living here. It's my understanding that the management did change hands in 2013 and the landlord and office assistant that are currently there are both great, and very responsive. We've had absolutely no issues.
The bedrooms are a little bit small--but no smaller than other North Village apartments--, and I think all the layouts of the different units have their own aspects, so definitely ask to check out a few if you don't love the first one you see. We have a third floor 2 bedroom 1.5 bath and we are happy with it. The kitchen is beautiful and our layout is really open. We have a balcony with room for a table and chairs, the bathroom has nice tiling in the shower, and the carpets and walls are in very good condition. There are office people who take packages for you, so your packages are never just sitting on the doorstep. The front door is locked when the office is closed, so it's very safe. Laundry rooms are available in the parking garage level. The pool area is really beautiful. The maintenance people are on site all the time, and are super responsive and always come within the day of calling or submitting the online request.
I would recommend living here!
Don't ever consider living in this apartment. First of all, this place is noisy on Friday or Saturday midnight. Drunk people walk on the street and yelled. Also the management team sucks, all they want is your money. I placed an order to fix something at the beginning of the leasing term, and they still hadn't sent someone is to repair on the date when I move it. Not to mention the rent is effing expensive for one bedroom and the manager was freaking rude when you have problem to deal with him. Avoid this place at all cost....
