This is a complicated review because I loved the building but hated the property manager. The apartment itself is a short, flat walk to campus (compared to walking up the hill lol) and the space was big, came with parking, had private entry, and was a good value for the space. However, the property management company AMS Realty was TERRIBLE. We ended up having a lot of issues with the unit that they failed to resolve (leaks onto electrical wires, no heat or AC for months, broken glass/food residue/bugs when we moved in, broken sink and appliances, the list goes on). Just as a side note, it’s illegal in California to charge rent in a unit with no heat, but they did it anyway. They will try anything to take your money and will definitely take advantage of you being a student or a first time renter. This building is in an HOA, so not every unit is managed by the same company. If you can find a unit managed by someone else I would try it out, but stay away from AMS!
