First off, this is a luxury apartment. Very comfortable, clean and the landlord Jennifer if such a friendly, easy going landlord. She really takes care of you and the packages.
The rooms are tiny! I wasn't comfortable studying in my room at any moment b/c I felt like everything was so squished. The close space is tiny. The master bedroom has a personal bathroom, but this doesn't include a shower. There is a walk in closet almost..with a balcony which is nice.
The living room is not big either, the kitchen was tiny. And there is only one full bathroom which is the outdoor one. Overall the place was kept clean, rent is still on the more expensive side since you're paying for the pool etc. I remember water and trash is paid to the building. My unit had gas stoves, a fridge and microwave. No trash chute, which was really inconvenient b/c you would have to go all the way down to the garage to dump all your trash.
Noise level was primarily moderate to quiet. On some nights you can hear partying from neighboring apartments, which got kind of annoying after a while. There are plenty of washing and drying machines, although it was a bit expensive, $1.50 to wash, $1.50 to dry. Also you had to purchase a card in order to use the laundry facility.
Parking spaces were extremely tight and small! Had so much difficulty trying to park in this place, had to repark repeatedly. Landfair is not a big street so it was very hard trying to find street parking.
It's a far walk to Westwood, especially if you don't have a car. It's basically going uphill, which can be a pain. Not close to any bus stops besides the one in Westwood.
The landlord, Jennifer, is amazing, I will really miss her, she has to be the best landlord on the hill! The apartments are very nice inside, however, they are nt as spacious as other complexes, but the interior is remodeled, which is very nice.
We are on Veteran so we get some street traffic and pedestrian noise at night. Other than that, the complex is relativeley quiet. It is not a long walk to campus, which is nice, I can make it to south campus in 15-20 minutes since it is just a few minutes walk past DeNeve.
Each unit is a little different from what I have seen, so I recommend looking at the unit before you take it. Overall, it is a wonderful place to live! After one year, your rent goes to a month to month basis, which was really nice for us since graduation is coming up in June and my room mate and I can get out of our lease in June rather than Spetember. Definitely talk to Jennifer and she will help you out!
Also, the picture shown is not the building, it is on the corner of Gayley and Veteran. The leasing office is located within this building (415 Gayley for all four buildings) and the complex also includes the adjacent building on Kelton as well as two buildings across the street from one another on Levering, near Veteran.
