I wouldn't recommend this apartment to anyone I know. The landlord Linda is insanely pushy and often downright mean and confrontational. Avoid Linda and the rest of her properties (Strathmore Investments) at all costs.
When we moved in, our apartment was trashed and it took MONTHS for the repairs to be done. The apartment is right across from the frats and the paper-thin windows do nothing to block the sound. Our heater and oven were broken for months before they finally got (kinda) fixed.
The only good thing about this apartment is the maintenance man, Arturo. He is very kind and fixes problems in the apartment to the best of his ability.
So after living south of Wilshire last year, waiting for the bus got old quick, our priority this time around was proximity to campus. Location is ideal being a block to campus and really everything you need in Westwood is about a 10 minute walk. The bedrooms are pretty big, we each have full size beds in our bedroom and our closet is huge. Our neighbors have been nice, so far no big parties or jerks to deal with. Manager is nice and fast with maintenance requests. Gated parking is included with rent and there is a laundry room. Pretty good place to live especially given the price and location, no complaints.
This was my first apt, so I probably looked at about 10 buildings before finally going with this one. I almost went with another place a block away but ended up picking this one since it was a little less rent and I am so glad I did. As someone who is always late, I know working on it, I love that its literally a block from campus. Manager, Linda is really nice and the service requests are taken care of very quickly and thankfully submitted by text, very easy. All in all, I think this is one of the best deals in north village. Easy to recommend
I've been living here this past year and it's a great apartment! The location is key, it’s only about a 5 minute walk to campus and in-n-out. The manager, Linda is really helpful and easily available via text. I actually messed up my application paperwork the first time and she was really nice about meeting me again and explaining what was missing. The one time I texted her for maintenance, the handyman was there the same day to fix my light. The bedrooms are pretty spacious with really big closets. Also, if you can, I highly recommend trying to get a unit with a balcony. Ours is really big with a nice view and we pretty much use it every day. There’s laundry machines on site. All in all, I think its well run and very fairly priced especially for the location. I honestly realized I got an awesome deal when I saw my friends apartments. I love living here and have no problem recommending this place especially if you’re a student.
Beware of this place, the apartments are completely overpriced and not very well kept. If you take great care of the place, and make sure everything is in order when you move out, she will still find a way to take money out of your security deposit. We did everything the lease said, which includes paying for a professional cleaning service upon move out and were still charged a lot of money for things that were already broken when we moved in, and the landlord knows it. Don't expect to get your full security deposit back at this place, no matter what you do.
I've been living here for this past year and have been super happy with the place. First of all you seriously can't beat the location and our unit came with a gated spot. Manager has always been nice and more importantly replies quickly when I text her a question or need to get something fixed. Not sure of the usual maintenance guys name but he's nice and I see him around pretty often.
Probably one of the best things is the size of the bedrooms, at least in our apt. We're 4 but you could probably get six in here if you wanted to. Really a good deal especially given the location parking and it includes some utilities.
All in all no complaints and would definitely recommend living here. I only wish we applied sooner so we could have got one of the 2 bedrooms that have a balcony!
I lived at 10944 Strathmore for 3 years while in graduate school at UCLA in a 1 bed, 1 bath. It was a good experience. The rent was pretty reasonable and it was very close to school. There were no problems with my apartment and it really felt like home by the end of my 3 years there. That was the first apartment I lived that had wooden floors, and I grew to love that feeling beneath my feet in comparison to carpet. The property is managed well and honestly. The manager will get back to you very quickly regarding concerns (like the couple of times when I locked myself out.. doh!). I had no problems with security deposit issues, etc. There were just a couple of maintenance issues in the apartment itself during my time there, and those were always taken care of quickly and professionally by the handyman on site. Another thing I liked was that parking was quite spacious, enough so that I actually had both a car and scooter in 1 spot. Grad school was tough, but it helped that I lived in a comfortable, convenient place like this.
We decided to renew our lease from last year because no problems and its actually cheaper then other places further from campus. The manager is really nice and they have really fast maintenance, The one time I texted about a problem he showed up in 30 minutes. Also the apt comes with gated parking. So, overall no complaints 10/10
